A fan of DIY and the family of Scripps Networks channels (including HGTV and Food Network), Donaldson is overwhelmed at being the winner of the gorgeous Barna log home at Lakefront Estates on beautiful Watts Bar Lake. Read more about the contest and the winner here.

With 55 of our homesites directly on the water, we know how important having a private dock is to many of our visitors. We ran across a Wall Street Journal article about how in some parts of the country homeowners are paying big premiums for waterfront homes that come with their own dock. That’s not exactly the case here at Lakefront Estates, but you can read the article here.

After the sale of our first lakefront homes earlier this year, we began building two more homes slated for completion in 2009.

The home on Lot 19 will be 3,654-square feet and features three bedrooms on the main level with access to an outdoor entertainment area with fireplace. The 2,930-square-foot home on Lot 31 has a huge deluxe kitchen with windows overlooking the water and a three-car garage.

Both homes are designed for those seeking the convenience and safety of a one-level floor plan. I was just out on the property today and it’s a beautiful December day with the sun shining in the water.
